Nice seeing Stefan driving his old classic car/being seemingly happy, but it was unfair of him to lie to Elena about being fine (in regards to craving human blood). Speaking of, keeping blood bags in the boot of his car wasn't exactly being careful, was it? Good animosity between Damon and John. I liked Damon's "Whatever I can do to keep this town safe...even if it means spending time with you." line also his interaction with Anna.

So, Bonnie's back...and looking understandably rough around the edges (what's up with her hair?), apparently harboring resentment towards Elena whilst being best buds with Caroline (talking to her every day, whereas she didn't keep in contact with Elena).

I'm glad Stefan pointed out to Damon that it was in fact *he* who shoved the human blood drinking on Stefan (in the scene where Damon discovered the blood bags Stefan was keeping and that he wasn't as "fine" as he'd maintained).

Damon did a decent job of threatening John (saying how, if John revealed Damon's secret to the Council, Damon would then kill the council, remove John's hand/ring and kill John...again).

Elena and Stefan practicing their dancing was a fun scene/moment that I enjoyed. Too bad Bonnie had to be such a downer when she crossed paths with Elena and Stefan. I was SO hoping that when Bonnie returned, she wouldn't be like this. I understand her being upset that her Gran died, and then learning that the spell that they did (which killed her Gran) ended up being for nought...but Bonnie and her Gran *did* make the choice to do that spell. Being bitchy to Elena doesn't achieve anything. Basically, the way it had played out was: Damon went into the tomb for Katherine, Stefan went in for Damon, Elena went in for Stefan, and Bonnie wasn't going to leave them trapped, so her and her Gran decided to hold the spell for as long as they could. Everyone played a part, so pretending *only* Stefan and Damon were to "blame" is wrong. Either there's enough blame to go around for everyone (including Bonnie herself), or Bonnie shouldn't be playing the blame game at all.

Stefan almost losing it, as he saw the guy with the bloodied leg at school, was a good tension-filled moment. I knew he was going to whirl around and freak out on someone...turned out that someone was Alaric. Lucky him.

I liked the violin music version of that Coldplay song playing in the background.

Good scene between Elena and Damon, with Damon revealing to her that Stefan was still drinking human blood. He got a good exit line: "I'm gonna...uh, I'll be downstairs...drinking.", while Elena made a good point to Stefan when she said, "Are you hearing yourself right now?". It was indeed a little freaky how different Stefan was sounding. He definitely was NOT himself (and I was getting quickly tired of him maintaining that he was "fine"). It was especially low of him to guilt her by saying, "I thought you believed in me." - the human blood addiction really turned him into an unlikeable guy. Then came his grunting and growling like an animal and mirror smashing (that's how many years bad luck?).

While Caroline's inferiority complex (when it comes to "competing" with Elena) is wearing a bit thin, at least she had a nice moment where she reminded Elena as to why she was going through with the whole Miss Mystic Falls thing (for her mum).

Paul Wesley was doing a great job conveying that he was "fricking hungry" in the parking lot with that Amber girl. He does blood-addicted vampire very well.

Excellent scene with Elena and Damon, with Damon stepping up to take Stefan's place in his absence. I LOVED the dancing sequence with the two of them (and the perfectly chosen song that played throughout). If you haven't seen the chemistry between Dobrev and Somerhalder previously, surely you would have during their dance. Those were some intense looks they were sharing. Sizzling.

Paul Wesley was downright creepy when telling Amber just what exactly he wanted to do to her. Her going along with it (due to being compelled) made it even more unnerving. Stefan was looking very animalistic/nasty there with the blood on his mouth.

The end scenes, with Elena coming to Stefan, him yelling at her/scaring her/being violent with her, then her stabbing him with Vervain (which reminded me of what Buffy did to Angel in the Season 2 final) and - with Damon's help - locking Stefan up were awesome. Excellent acting from Dobrev, Wesley and Somerhalder throughout the episode. Damon sitting with Elena was the perfect way to end things. This was a great tension-filled episode and the series shows no signs of slowing down.
