Waste of time

Warning: Spoilers
While the movie did have some good moments, it was a waste of time overall. Disney was trying to conjure up and capture the same spirit of the Sea Biscuit movie, but fell miserably short. What was missing was real character development and weak lines. I get who each character is supposed to be, but don't know how or why they are like that, so in the end didn't really care. I was really only interested in the story of the horse which by the end of the movie I found more interesting to read about on wikipedia. So then, not to spoil it, but in the final race scene, the winning moment of the movie is utterly ruined with some b.s. gospel music which really had nothing to do with the white bred world of horse racing and the owner. The actors all have a great body of work, but adding this movie didn't do much to uplift their career, but probably only their bank account. Not that I blame them, but the direction just didn't get the best out of these otherwise fine actors. It's not worth the time, just skip this movie and go enjoy Sea Biscuit all over again. That movie is so tight in that it has a nice pace, development and great actors. This movie is just Sea Biscuit Lite or Lo-Cal.
