David Niven actually almost has a supporting role as Ian Fleming's Cold-War gentleman superspy in this free-wheeling "mod" spoof. Yes, the plot's thin as a rail, and it's a bit slow, but for some reason, I grew up on this movie and have seen it so many times. A triumph of style over substance, with some of the most gorgeous Bond women ever (especially Daliah Lavi and Barbara Bouchet), and an extravagant visual style. "Suggested" by the first Bond novel, it has a very few moments from it but that's it! Raymond Benson wrote in The James Bond Bedside Companion that the Bond movies in the '70s became not too different from this movie. Can hardly blame him LOL Might enjoy this guilty pleasure even more with a few beers.
