Satan (2006)
Cassel almosts saves the weak story
7 August 2011
Sheitan is a French horror film that really doesn't go anywhere or provide many scary moments. Vincent Cassel is unrecognizable as the lead villain Joseph; he's sufficiently menacing but the weak script is well below his acting talents. Cassel was the dance director in last years much hyped and overrated Black Swan. Here he scowls and physically abuses most of the cast throughout this scare fest.

On the positive side, Roxane Mesquida provides eye candy(as she did in the horror- parody Rubber recently). As the temptress Eve she has brought a few bar patrons to her family's rural farm for a supposed romantic getaway. Of course things don't turn out as planned for the prospective soul mates. Ms. Mesquida does have an all to brief nude scene with 2 guys.

The movie only runs an hour and a half, so if you're a horror fan, this is very middle of the road with some better and some worse in this genre. The two aforementioned leads make the ride marginally passable.
