Has Sydney's cover been broken?
1 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After the events of the previous episode Dixon has been left seriously wounded and Sydney has no way to contact SD-6 to order an extraction; she has a choice; let Dixon die or call the CIA and thus risk her own life. Of course she takes the latter option and hopes they believe that she was able to get him to hospital herself. Back in LA Karl Dreyer has analysed Sydney's lie detector results and they are perfect; so perfect he is convinced she must be the mole. Sloane isn't so sure but agrees to send out a kill order... or so it appears. In fact he has sent the message out on 'server five' the server that he knows is being monitored by the CIA; Vaughn does not realise it is a test to see if Sydney gets rescued so risks blowing her cover. Will's investigations are getting more interesting; after talking into the bug he gets a strange phone call asking him just how far he wants to take his investigation; he has no idea whether the voice is an ally or somebody who might kill him.

This wasn't an action packed episode but in made up for that with the constant threat that Sydney could be exposed; first when she calls for help to save Dixon, then with her test results and finally in a totally unpredicted situation at the end which led to yet another cliff hanger! Tobin Bell continued his excellent portrayal of Dreyer with disturbingly understated menace; I think even Sloane might be scared by him! Victor Garber also managed to put in an intimidating performance as Jack Bristow when he forced Vaughn to change his plans during an operation; he might not get involved in the action but he is the scariest of the 'good guys'!
