Another shocker as THE WALKING DEAD winds down its second season. That's three dramatic back to back to back episodes in a row- and the season finale is yet to come (it, too, looks like it'll be a doozy). The one thing I thought they might've overlooked was an opportunity to have a RECURRING zombie character, a la "Bub" in George Romero's DAY OF THE DEAD. While there's still a chance they could go that route, I think they missed a golden opportunity with Shane, a character some people already saw as a danger to the group. It would've been great to see him return from time to time as a tag-along zombie following his old friends throughout this Grave New World. (A footnote: When I submitted my DAY OF THE DEAD script to George Romero in late 1978/early 1979, there was just such a zombie character in it: I called him Lazarus, and he successfully led the zombies in a war against a group of National Guardsmen.)
