Love at First Sight (1977)

Loved this movie but have a few complaints about it

It's so funny to see Dan Aykroyd so young in this movie. I loved this movie so much but I didn't like Shirley's father. I think that he was very judgmental and two-faced to not approve of Roy and Shirley just because Roy is blind. I thought it was amazing how near the end he pretended that he was able to see and pointed to things and said stuff like "I can see! Those buildings....those trees." I think that Shirley is a very sweet young woman. I'm wondering how she wasn't influenced by her father to talk the way he does. Also when Shirley confronted him about not approving of Roy, he said stuff like "nobody gives a damn about this family." I mean, who says stuff like that and what kind of father would make their daughter marry a man with barely any fingers and a weird laugh? This movie definitely reminded me of how things used to be back then. Also, this movie was a stress reducer, at least for me. It made me thankful to have the family I have.
