It's nothing special, but it's fun.

Warning: Spoilers
The Madagascar series hasn't been that well received. I like them, but a lot of people don't for some reason. It's been a long time since we last saw Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julian, and the gang. So I wasn't expecting a whole lot. But I saw Madagascar: Europe's Most Wanted Last Night, and it was pretty good.

Once again, the gang is trying to return back to New York. While doing so, they end up in Monte Carlo, where a break-in to a casino goes poorly. While on the run from a crazy animal control officer(Voiced perfectly by Frances McDOrmand, one of the films strongest parts), the gang joins a circus in hopes that they can finally get home.

I've noticed that every film has focused on Alex mainly, and here it is the same case. Alex sort of hogs the spotlight, the rest of the characters, aside from Marty's stupid afro circus song, get pushed off to the side. I can't think of one line they said. Also, the Italian accents from Bryan Cranston, Jessica Chastain, and Martin Short, are silly.

But the film is fun, and it's funny, and it's got some gorgeous animation. But I enjoyed a lot of the moments with Frances McDormand. McDormand give one of the most talented voice performances of the year. She's hilarious, wild, and she can sing wicked french. I had a blast watching her alone.

Madagascar the third isn't nearly as good as something like Brave, or a lot of animations. But it's a fun escape, sure to keep little munchkins entertained. It's not as good as the second one, but it's better than the first one. I had fun, but I guess i'm still a kid on the inside.
