6/10
could have been much better

I wanted to love this show. From the great introduction featuring snippets of New York, and the first couple of episodes I was hooked, and thought HBO had a gem. The crisp storyline had great potential, and the two main characters trying to live the 'american dream', seemed viable. The various settings from barneys, to new art galleries, to queens, to hipster bars set the tone for the series. Only for this to be pushed aside for a greater focus on the rastamonsta story line.

The show should have kept to its roots and focused on the competitive new york fashion industry. It should have looked at the skateboarder's stories, Eddie Kaye Thomas's story, whilst also focusing on Rachel's job and story development. This was more than enough.... Comments from critics and other users seemed to undermine the show by saying nothing happened. It looks like this got to the producers who seemed to focus on ridiculous plots, and stop and start the direction of the story.

This show could have been a hit with both sexes, and come off as one of the shows of the year, however it has only itself to blame for being canceled.
