Some Girls (2012–2014)

A failed attempt at mimicking a successful pre-requisite framework
2 January 2013
I don't wish to further support the ongoing and established criticisms regarding the show's failed attempt to copy the Inbetweeners' framework, however it seems impossible to view this atrocity without noticing the unbearable similarities within the two comedies. However, unfortunately, the only comical aspect of this show is its complete and utter failure to deliver. Nevertheless i can indeed confirm that the hilarity of the show's incompetence is somewhat compelling.

Firstly, the unbearable use of the tall, dim-witted group member used in conjunction with a foul-mouthed, sex obsessed member and also a smarter and more sensible member of a group of four friends attending a comprehensive 6th form ironically has an opposing effect on the reader. I really do wonder how quickly the producers brainstormed the foundations for this series and who had indeed contributed to such ideas.

The attempt at personifying the whole social demographic of lower class school students achieved nothing short of a hindrance to the general perception of female school children today. The use of characters and comic timing is consistently poor, not to mention the extremely low budget acting skills demonstrated by the majority of the cast. However i must admit that i see potential in Adeleyo Adedeyo's future, it's just unfortunate that this show won't provide her with the career foundations that she possibly deserves.

I highly doubt, and highly hope, that this show does not continue with another series. There are plenty of current developments that would deserve the airtime and provide a much more significant impact on its target audience.

I'm a firm believer of highlighting complimentary material where appropriate, but unfortunately, the only factor of this shows competence is that it categorically lacks in effectiveness to such an extent i find it hilarious.
