Mitzi does dazzle
13 May 2013
Entertaining and flashy which should come as no surprise: one because of the title and two for anyone who has ever seen Mitzi, the woman loves sparkles, rhinestones and bugle beads. The running time is a bit misleading for anyone who wants the full experience of the documentary. The initial part of the show is a documentary that does run about an hour with interviews and little snippets of shows however the extras run about the same length and that is where the real bulk of Mitzi performing is contained. Both parts are interesting and feed into each other, probably best to watch the doc first since it gives background on the numbers and the work that went into them so that it adds an extra dimension to the musical performances when you watch them. Mitzi comes across as a nice, high energy woman who loves what she does and there is a lot of talent on display.
