Review of The Heat

The Heat (I) (2013)
8/10
Made me laugh, what more do you want from a comedy.

Having read some of the reviews for this film I think that some people need to just lighten up and enjoy a film for what it is. As far as comedies go this one was pretty good and there was quite a bit of action in there too which made it more watchable.

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy were playing completely opposite characters and they were both amusing in their respective roles. I thought their rivalry and competition brought more comedy to the film and it was also nice to see how they became genuine friends.

Sometimes with comedies they put all the funniest bits in the trailer and I was expecting the same with this one but there were a lot of laughs throughout the whole film so that was enjoyable. There was a lot of swearing in this film and I can understand why some people wouldn't find that funny but for me it was.

It did go on for a bit longer than necessary but most films do these days. Not everyone will find this funny but I personally would recommend it and I thought it was nice to see another female led comedy. For how much this film made me laugh I have to give it an 8.
