Farah Khan is a self acclaimed 70s films lover, this was her debut film as a director. MAIN HOON NAA is a tribute to the 70s in a way It starts with a terrorist attempt by Suneil Shetty who is against the Mission of Indo-Pak peace. Srk in a matrix inspired stupid action scene saves the day but his father Naseeruddin Shah is killed, Naseeruddin Shah tells Srk that he had a Masoom sa affair 20 years back and his wife Kirron Kher left the house alongwith her son Zayed Khan, Srk is sent to join the family while also in a mission to save Amrita Rao, the college or school whatever it is scenes are quite fun at times too overdone, like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai too the college(passed off as a school) is shown in a unrealistic way. The scene when Srk saves Zayed and comes to know his true identity is good, even the Sunil vs Srk scenes are well handled, The climax inspired from BLADE 2 is quite well shot with many overdone action scenes.
Direction by FARAH KHAN is good especially in serious scenes Music by Anu Malik is decent, the title song, Tumse Milke is good too, rest are okay, Chale Jaisi Hawain shot in a single take is good
Shahrukh Khan normally known for making monkey antics is quite restrained here, they are scenes where he repeats his previous act but mostly he does a good job,Amrita Rao is quite good, Zayed Khan apes Srk a lot but does quite well in some comic scenes, this was supposed to be his debut film but got delayed ditto for Amrita Sushmita Sen is quite good in her role which is not too demanding Suniel Shetty in a negative role after DHADKAN, KHEL, BAAZ and RUDRAKSH does a good job, at times he does ham it up too Naseeruddin Shah is okay in a cameo, Murli Sharma,Kirron Kher are quite good, Boman Irani signed the film pre Munnabhai days but yet is good as the forgettable principal who only exist in Srk films, Bindu and others are quite good
