Sam's friend Dave wants to hang out with him but he can't because of his relationship with Diane. So Dave predicts that they will break up within 24 hours and works on it. He makes Diane aware of Sam still having his phone book and even gets him with a woman, but Sam stays faithful to Diane and they stay together.
