8/10
Its not what you think, you need an open mind.

It was interesting.

Lindsay's story was told in a way, where the best way to describe it, would be interesting. Its probably unlike any other documentary or reality TV show I've seen where you don't quite know what is really going on or who's perspective to trust.

The last part of the series wraps things up quite nicely. Whatever judgements and thoughts you made throughout the series you get more of a perspective about why certain things happened during the series. The real moral you walk away with is, the stories you see in the tabloids or even seeing the documentary never tells the real story so no matter what is being portrayed.

Depending on who you are or how cemented your opinions become this is a moral the audience may or may get. In a way this made the documentary artsy. You as the audience really have to make up your own mind and use your own brain.

My only gripes are, I think the docu-series was too short. I don't think we got to see enough of Lindsay as an animal in her own natural habitat. This was filmed 2 weeks after rehab, it starts off with an insane move across the country, the beginning of building her staff, later we find out what's really been going on with her. Because of that, I really don't think these 8 episodes showed who Lindsay really is. This is a major transitional period in her life. It may be unflattering but any transitional moments can make any person unflattering. It doesn't mean that's who they really are.

As audience members, I can see why some people might get disappointed because we think we're not getting what we were promised but in a way, we do. This is a story about a girl, continually trying to climb her way out of a slump. The story just isn't completed. I think the docu-series should have started after her move, she had established things and organized her situation better. That way we could see the resolution of the story. What we're really watching is the somebody going through a dark time in their life that is trying to get out.

The worst part is, because of Lindsay's nature we don't get to go through the journey she goes through. We get shut out because of her fears of being judged. Ironically, that's what makes us judge her. She comes off in a certain way. If you can look past that and catch the glimpses of her saying the right things that a passionate, ambitious, motivated person knows and realize she never tries to destroy a person even though she is angry. You'll realize there is a totally different person there we don't get to meet yet but she's in there.

As entertain goes it was entertaining and interesting to watch. I think the situation is more complex than what we were shown.
