Law & Order: Lost Boys (2008)
Season 19, Episode 3
5/10
Continental Reach
24 November 2014
Jeremy Sisto and Anthony Anderson catch a case where the investigated party has a continental reach. A dead Mormon boy from Arizona is found stabbed in Central Park. But it turns out he's not just your average name plate white shirt elder. He's from a breakaway group of Mormons who practice polygamy. At least one of them does. Colm Meaney is the head of the sect and he's got six wives ranging in age from 44 to 17. One of the perks of being a prophet, still he's a piker next to Brigham Young who had at least 27.

There's another death yet and this guy from Arizona has the local law in his hip pocket as runaway wife Jena Malone predicts. He's also a con artist as he's collecting illegal welfare from one of the reddest of red states. Still he's white not like one of those illegal Mexicans everyone is worried about.

I could not for the life of me understand why the idiot judge ruled that we can't talk about polygamy, especially since it is illegal. Got to respect these polygamists, especially ones like Meaney who view it as a Christian harem. Renders the story as beyond comprehension given the context of a murder.

Not one of the better stories from Law And Order.
