the writers always do their best work with humanistic themes
22 January 2015
As was the case with the award winning series upon which this "showcase" (futuristic) series was based, the best episodes are the ones without the super-villains, the ones where human foibles are more important than mad scientists and ego-maniacs.

My personal view was there were was enough life left in the original Batman without the need to age him and have him pass his legacy to a high-schooler.

As is the case with most of my personal views, no one seemed to care.

That said, the Terry character is well constructed, given the limitations of the riff, and this episode, which is almost entirely about being in high-school, is good fun.

And the close, which plays off the dialog "We can still be friends," is nothing less than inspired.
