We are waiting for Rory to go to Harvard for two seasons now, and just one season after her mom and her visited the campus, she finally received her long-awaited application she had to fulfill. We expect that to be as easy as a as pie. Unfortunately, she discovered she is just an ordinary student, and the road to Harvard is longer and more winding than she seemed.
The whole episode takes sense when Rory meet an alumnus to help her being accepted to Harvard. The alumnus' family appears to be a cliché of an Harvard family.
