Warning: Spoilers
Even if Walt Disney was only in his mid-20s when he made "The Ocean Hop", he was already a very prolific director at that point. It is not a bad movie by any means, but falls flat in comparison to what he did later. It is 1927 (almost 90 years ago) and Oswald was Disney's main character shortly before Mickey Mouse took over. This is still a black-and-white film and runs for 6 minutes. It is basically slapstick humor from start to finish, but there already is a bit of a story too, which is fairly nice and not a given looking at other films made around that time. My favorite part was probably the flying dachshund. Only in film he could be faster than an actual airplane. A bit predictable all the time and not as funny as I would have liked, I cannot recommend "The Ocean Hop".
