Alright, so I'm like really late on this hype, like, 10 years late. But, hey, I'm here now! So, of course I have heard a lot about dexter and how great it's supposed to be, and maybe that has made my expectations a tad bit unrealistic. So I'm a sucker for psychopaths, sociopaths or just plain unpredicta ble unstable persons overall in movies and TV-series. So I thought that this would be great. Well, turns out it's not really what I expected. I just feel like all of the characters so far are kind of flat and not very realistic or 'popping'. Dexter's character is a bit better with some more complex attributes and questions. But overall, not too exciting. Other than that my main reactions to this pilot is that the different cases are far too rapid for my taste, and from an aesthetic point of view this wasn't at all pleasing (blood effects and so on) (and yes, this is from 2006, and yes, maybe you can't really judge it based on todays knowledge, but I can't help it) Maybe it's a bit early to judge, but if this is how it will all go down I'm not too keen on hanging around till the end.
