I saw "The Bronze", starring Melissa Rauch-Bernadette on The Big Bang Theory_tv, I Love You,Man; Gary Cole-The Good Wife_tv, Pineapple Express; Haley Lu Richardson-Mortal Kombat X:Generations_tv, Ravenswood_tv; Thomas Middleditch-The Wolf of Wall Street, Fun Size and Sebastian Stan-Bucky in the Captain America movies, Hot Tub Time Machine.

This is a dark comedy that was written by Melissa and her husband, Winston Rauch. I guess this is one of those cases where an actor that plays a nice, goody two shoes type role on TV wants to go in the opposite direction and play a mean, self-centered person that cusses all the time. Melissa plays a former gymnast that gets hurt in the 2004 Olympics but goes on to win the Bronze medal, also winning the sympathy and hearts of the world. Cut to the present and she is still trying to cash in on her former glory. She is always wearing her red, white and blue jumpsuit from 2004 so that people will not forget who she is. She is not a nice person. She treats everyone, including her father Gary, like they are dirt beneath her shoes. She cusses like a sailor, tells strangers in bars they can have their way with her for a drink. Gary is a mail man and Melissa will steal cash out of letters from her father's mail truck, just so she can go shopping at the mall. Like I said, not a nice person. Then, Haley comes along as a new, up and coming gymnast that will take Melissa's place as hometown girl, if she goes all the way for a gold medal. Thomas plays a guy that runs the local gym and has a crush on Melissa and Sebastian is a rival gymnastics teacher. Oh yeah, I must mention the sex scene; Melissa and Sebastian have a wild sex scene in a motel that is pretty unbelievable. Both being gymnasts, they do cart wheels, back flips, spins, etc, all while engaging in sexual escapades. I must say, Melissa looks good, too! Unless it's a stunt double, and if it is a double, she looks good! It's rated "R" for language, drug use and sexual content-including nudity-and has a running time of 1 hour & 48 minutes. It's not for everybody but if you like dark comedies, you might like this one. I did and would buy it on DVD.
