Sacrificing Quality for Future Viewership
3 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers abound:

I have never written a review on IMDb before, but I felt compelled to do so for this sorry excuse of an episode. The introduction of Negan has been the longest awaited episode in the history of the show, and the entire season has been building up to it. The most famous scene from the comics.

And they decide to make it a CLIFFHANGER?

This scene had the potential to be the most powerful and emotional in the show, but instead they decided to make it a money grab to ensure high viewership for the Season 7 premiere.

This is totally pathetic, and I will no longer watch The Walking Dead weekly like I have. I can't say that I will stop watching, but it is clear that the producers and writers do not value the fans more than they value numbers. When you sacrifice the quality of the show for future viewership, that is when you lose viewers.

Shame on Robert Kirkman and Scott Gimple.
