rambling meandering road trip
5 May 2016
Clifton Hangar (Lukas Haas) interviews reclusive rock star Spyder (Kevin Zegers) in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Twenty year earlier, Spyder returns to Oyster Bay after a disastrous sophomore album. His old bandmate Eric Genson (Jason Ritter) is an unhappy school teacher. Eric is not eager to rejoin Spyder's band. Eric's father was a rock legend. Rose Atropos (Taryn Manning) is Spyder's manager. August West (Peter Fonda) is their driver. They have two weeks before the label drops them. Eric wants Spyder to write their own material rather than stealing. They drive off on a cross-country tour in an Airstream RV back to L.A.

This is a string of lifeless rehash of rock road movie scenes. If you can survive that far, I like the blues bar and the music is cool there. However, these are shells of characters. They are not compelling and they're not in a compelling story. It's a bunch of aimless lifeless characters in a rambling story meandering across the country.
