"Lucy the Gun Moll" is a very interesting entry in The Lucy Show, and may be the most rewarding to watch from the fourth season. It seems the writers decided to cannibalize another Desilu production, ABC's The Untouchables, for this outing, and we see not only Robert Stack, but some other supporting players ...

And the Narrator, Walter Winchell as well! Lucy didn't want him in the episodes, because of how he gave her a hard time during the Red Hunt of the 1950s. Her ex-husband, Desi Arnaz, told her that Winchell's narration was strictly business, and she relented.

The fourth season pales compared to Seasons 1 (especially) and Season 2, but this is definitely worth a watch. Lucille Ball gets to play two characters here, both Lucy Carmichael and a gun moll, whom she poses for. I'm sure she had a blast getting out of her Lucy Carmichael role for this one.

And the guest performers are terrific. It's fun to see what is a de facto 1920s series updated to 1965-66!

Finally, watch for Lucy at the end of the episode, as she breaks the Fourth Wall, addressing the audience! A real rarity for this series!
