The ending to the show was perfect. It is sad to say the least that so many people just won't get its true meaning. Ted was supposed to be with Robin all along and that was the true meaning of the show, to tell you Love does not know of any limits and does not hold back no matter how crazy it might seem. Barney was always a womanizer and only an event such as the birth of his daughter could change him, justifiably, just as it happened. He never belonged with Robin. Their relationships were an accepted tool to drive the show forward amongst other things but it also went to show that Robin eventually did not really match with him as much as many thought, and that Barney was truly not meant to make it work with any woman as his wife, but as his legendary daughter. Tracy was eventually reunited with her own love just like she had stated in 9x16 and Ted got to spend some of the most amazing years of his life with her and a family, like he always wanted, just like Robin got to have the career she always dreamt of. And in the end, when the timing was eventually right, Marshal won the bet because Ted realized it was time to go get who his long lasting story always showed him he should , Robin. Legendary end to a Legendary show.
