Must see for the camp factor!

Warning: Spoilers
A little hard to watch at times, it is THAT hokey. We have a female "psychiatrist" who is very interested in ESP, which theme does not actually figure into the rest of the plot. Perhaps psychiatrists of 1960's California were greatly concerned with ESP. Anyway, dated and amateurish compared to later episodes, but major camp here, and a must for fans of Star Trek history.

Here is a definitely younger looking Captain Kirk, but still quite recognizable as himself in his delivery of lines at the climax. Here is Mr Spock, with a more severe and exotic look, and getting uncharacteristically excited. We see a down right skinny Montgomery Scott- he must be 45 but looks very young. Sulu is also here as a brainy supporting character.

Interesting premise that we see again and again in future episodes : alien contact has somehow resulted in folks not being quite themselves. Creating an ethical dilemma. Leading to drama, a fist fight featuring Captain Kirk, with a sexy-looking torn shirt a la Flashdance, and a resolution in our heroes' favor. Throw is a couple of philosophical questions and you have Roddenberry's classic Star Trek recipe. I love it, but many of the later episodes were better after the characters were more fleshed out.
