Moving until it turns cheesy

Warning: Spoilers
"Dragon" is a Russian film, telling the fairy-tale of Mira, a noble daughter that falls for the dragon, who kidnaps her during her wedding ceremony, bringing out the human characteristics that he still kept.

The movie is to a large extent based on emotions, the love of the main characters, the fear from the dragon and so on.. It is thus very easy to connect with the characters and you do hope for a Happy end after the bumpy ride they have to face. Also, you can see that the film has had some budget, the set design doesn't look cheap and has a somewhat realistic look.

Unfortunately, many times "Dragon" goes beyond cheesy. You can barely count the numerous occasions in which deeply romantic dialogues are paired with meaningful gestures. Sadly, the movie loses its sense of realism thereby. There's nothing to say against a romantic movie but there are multiple ways to achieve this more subtle than it was done here.

All in all this is a movie for lovers and those who are searching for it. For some romantic action with your partner this is probably great. Otherwise it is a question of taste.
