I just can't see the appeal

Warning: Spoilers
"Three Little Beers" is a 16.5-minute live action short film from 1935, so this one is already over 80 years old. The director is Del Lord and this means indeed that here we have another Three Stooges short film, which also means this is a black-and-white sound film. The writer is Clyde Bruckman and he may not have worked on as many projects with the trio as Lord, but still on some occasions, even if today he is mostly known for his work with silent film legend Buster Keaton. Now at an IMDb rating of 8.2 by almost 550 people, this must be one of the highest-rated and most appreciated Stooges short films and this really surprises me and it also does not make their other work (and that's quite a lot) look too good actually as this short movie we have here wasn't particularly memorable. Moe and Larry are even more forgettable than usual and Curly also does not really make an impact despite the solid material he has at his disposal here. Overall, the comedy and slapstick just isn't good and I don't think these films, this one in particular, have aged too well. As a whole, it is also really random with the Stooges being in charge of beer barrels initially and then suddenly appearing on a golf course. Eventually, the action is back to the beer and you know what to expect here I'm sure. sadly the effects when the Stooges (especially Moe) are hit by the barrels don't look too convincing either. Gotta give this one a thumbs-down. Don't watch.
