Forgettable fantasy with a few highlights.

The premise of the film is a bit more than silly. The perfect child changing to the worst child a babysitter might encounter, in a honest effort to force his parents to spend time at home. With a stronger cast, better performances, and improved writing, it might have been a decent film.

Occasionally there are scenes where the actors are not in best form. The fantasy of acting bad but being good gets old fast. Mid film it seems like another unrealistic romp in child fantasy, but without the fantasy or the romp. Fortunately, the appearance of Danny Trejo adds a bit of reality. "I'm just here for the thirty bucks an hour plus tip." And "as long as you are safe and the house is standing, they'll be happy." His appearance was obviously required for the film to have any redeeming value, and thankfully it brought the fantasy closer to reality.

My eight year old daughter was bored through most of the film. But, when Danny took the stage, I mentioned, "I can't believe he is in this film!" After his short appearance, she wished he was in it longer. Neither of us could believe the circumstance causing his departure, though it was necessary for the lumbering plot to progress.

Overall, it is not a "must watch" film, but passable for a rainy afternoon. A bonus is watching Machete acting a bit outside of his stereotype, when his stereotype is the reason he landed the role. At least he found a new fan in my daughter, which shows how weak the film is, as he wasn't the protagonist.
