Lightningface (2016)
4/10
I found it just too bizarre

Warning: Spoilers
"Lightningface" is a 20-minute live action short film from last year (2016) that was written and directed by prolific actor Brian Petsos. It already managed some awards recognition and this is probably because of lead actor Oscar Isaac. He is also among the producers here just like Kristen Wiig whose voice can also be heard while watching this little movie. It is the story of a man losing his sanity inside his apartment, but we really don't find out a lot about what happened or what made him go insane. We just watch the process. I personally believe the only reason this is known is because of Isaac and it really is a one-man show here from start to finish. But sadly, not even he can make the script work here. We got a prime example of style over substance with this one. I wish I could at least say it is worth seeing for fans of the actor here, but I doubt it because I am definitely one of these too (Inside Llewyn Davis is among my favorite films from the last decade) and I found it an extremely underwhelming work. Easily Isaac's worst since making it big, even if it is not his fault at all. Don't watch.
