At their going away party Caroline and Annie suspect Julia of having an affair, and this leads to further cracks appearing in her marriage to Richard, as well as putting strain on Caroline's own relationship with Trevor.
As with the previous two series finales the quality of the writing goes up a notch, with everyone on good form. Lea Thompson and Malcolm Gets are superb at selling the dramatic/romantic comedy aspects of the show, and it is their chemistry that has kept the ongoing will they/won't they afloat.
It's nice to see Annie with a stable boyfriend, and the Charlie/Del story is good too.
