Review of Losing Face

CSI: Miami: Losing Face (2002)
Season 1, Episode 2
9/10
Tough Way to See a Dear Friend
23 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I am counting down the episodes until Megan is gone for good, she is in one through ten, but there was a touching moment when Horatio thanks her for respecting the position. She asks him to question his decision of implicating a suspect, and after listening to Megan's reasoning and evidence, he gets less hung up on where he was going and refocuses.

Episode two is about Horatio's former life on the bomb-squad force with two men, the work they did, the paths they took, and unfortunately for Horatio's old boss, a murder by a former colleague.

This episode is well written, well played out, and it is a sad story. Horatio loses a great friend, mentor and good guy. The suspect is not known until three-quarters through the episode, when things begin to fall into place. Horatio deduces aloud with entire staff attending, the first bomb was to kill the victim and the bomb tech, the second was a decoy to lure them in and the third was to blow everyone to smithereens.

It requires considerable work by the staff to conclude who the suspect is and the final confrontation is worth watching because it is the result of hard work putting all pieces together to conclude it is revenge by a former squad member. Recommend watching all of it to see how this episode has similarities to other cop shows involving bomb disposals and the work involved investigating the crimes committed along the way.
