No Hunting (1955)
4/10
It's on, but maybe it should be off.

Warning: Spoilers
"No Hunting" is a Disney cartoon from 1955, so over 60 years old, and this one runs for a bit over 6 minutes only. It was nominated for an Academy Award, but lost out to Speedy Gonzalez' entering into the world of film/cartoons. Donald is in the center of it all and he goes hunting with a couple other guys, but none of them is really successful. With one exception, they are all humans here, but this one exception is another humanized duck. And this other duck added almost nothing for me story-wise or fun-wise. And even Donald seemed like a viewer in his own film most of the time unfortunately. He was in it because he was Donald, but with the excessive narration in the first half, it felt more like a Goofy cartoon. What else? Oh yeah, the very first minute with the prey turning the tables on the hunter was the funniest part of it all. The moment the hunt begins it all goes south and I found it difficult to enjoy. The epilogue was just equally bland. All in all nowhere near my favorite Disney or Donald works, on the contrary rather as I found this extremely underwhelming and my suggestion is you skip it and watch something else instead. It's way worse than many many other non-Oscar-nominated cartoons from back in the day.
