Warning: Spoilers
"Paul McCartney Feat. Michael Jackson: Say Say Say" is a pretty telling title here as you can see the names of the two singers as well as the name of the song for which we got the music video here. This is from 1983, so it has its 35th anniversary this year and it runs for pretty much exactly 5 minutes. Given that here we got two people who are considered by most to be among the top5 defining musicians of the 20th century, maybe even the top2, the outcome feels really shallow and unimpressive to me. Jackson is maybe a bit better than Macca here, but also not too great and the fact that no further collaborations followed says it all basically about the quality of this one. La Toya is forgettable, Linda is embarrassing. I know you should not talk badly about the dead and I respect her for a lot she did, but her appearance in here certainly was no revelation gently-speaking. When two such big names come up with a duet, you'd expect it to be covered many times in the years and decades to come and this did not happen either. It's nowhere near the most known Jac and Mac had to offer and for good reason. Oh yeah, Oscar winner Art Carney is in here too, but really almost not to be seen and he was clearly wasted with a role that any old man from the street could have played. So all in all, it's not a complete failure, maybe here and there a bit catchy, but given what it could have been, the outcome is very disappointing. Thumbs-down for writer and director Bob Giraldi's work here. Not recommended and I am glad it was this short.
