A man lost his dog but he managed to find it thanks to GPS collar. The animal was used as a bait for other dogs in the classic illegal dog fight. Police got in the apartment where the fights occurred, several dogs were left dead inside cages. Veterinarian discovered a finger inside dog belly, belonged to a woman of around thirty years old. The wife of one member of the ring had been missing for two weeks, much to her sister displeasure. The husband, a real estate agent, had an affair with a reporter and maybe they wanted to get rid of the victim. She framed him, by giving to the police the place where the body was buried. Cutter postdated the trial for one day looking for further evidences: the reporter had an affair even with the ring leader (whose business involved selling conterfeit wine bottles and the victim was ready to report the fraud).

The botulin journalist (Lara Flynn Boyle) is willing to do everything for the "scoop". I think at one point she wanted to seduce Cutter, but he's smarter than her. "I love it when the system works" the judge said at the end: he's right this time.
