The ending was the whole shocker of this movie.
They kept you entertained the whole time, but the ending is what stands out especially for a TV Made Movie. They both end up drowning in each others arms as they sink in the Pacific Ocean. I saw it the first time it was TV on and after it was over I was speechless. No VHS tape or DVR to rewind to make sure this is what I saw. I don't know how anyone that saw this movie could forget the ending. It was like a punch in the face.
