First off. I just watched this on TCM and the director, Frankenheimer, thought after watching this that it was so bad, he almost gave up making films, so it's NOT my imagination that it's that bad
Anyhow, I just wasted about 2 hours watching it so just wanted to save others from the same fate.
The movie is sort of like Rebel Without a Cause (RWAC), but somehow worse. I was never a fan of RWAC and never understood the hoopla except James Dean was sex symbol in the sexually repressed 50's. Well this movie reeks of that same ridiculous 1950's America. If Aliens ever find this in the future, they'll think all humans in the 50's were actually androids with only rudimentary communication skills so could barely communicate with one another.
The 2 stars are for the actors since it wasn't their fault.
