7/10
A different pleasant surprise to say the least

Infamous 3 had big shoes to fill being the third game into the Infamous series, the very first one to be released on the Playstation 4 four years ago. And after four years since its release, I finally gave it the chance it deserved and here is what I think about it.

First off, the story of the game. Your character Delsin Rowe comes in contact with a conduit and gains powers because of it. And he uses these powers to try and defeat and overthrow another evil conduit named Brooke Augustine. Now the story itself I thought was a little weak. Augustine has the power on concrete and summons a rock cuff around the legs of one of Delsin's friends holding them hostage, and Delsin either wants Augustine to release them or gain the power of concrete himself to release it. And other than that, take out her entire army and kick them out of the city. It wasn't totally interesting enough although Augustine was made out a great antagonist.

Another problem I had personally with the game was the dialogue. The entire game I thought the dialogue was a carbon copy of the Uncharted series dialogue with your character making comments and quips into, literally, every conversation he has with every character. Sometimes it's okay. For the whole game? Gets annoying after awhile.

Next, gameplay. Any and every big part of any game. The gameplay in Infamous: Second Son is nothing short of spectacular. The visuals looked amazing overlooking the city, and especially on the powers you receive in the game (smoke, neon, video, concrete). That being said, I also enjoyed the variety of powers that were offered in the game as listed above. Other mentioned powers in the game were paper, wire, and even glass which would'v been amazing to see. It certainly feels like a breath of fresh air from electricity.

The fighting is about the same style as the previous Infamous games, so no real problems or comments there. Although the fully powered karmic abilities were also a nice touch and visually pleasing.

All in all, I really enjoyed this game and wish I hadn't put it off for as long as I did. With that being said, it deserves the rating I gave and I really hope a sequel will be made in the near future.
