I'm sure that it was funny at the time. I'm sure people liked the humor, music, and slow story.
There is so little detecting in this case as it plays on a rather easy story. Numerous points don't add up, especially at the end. The story is concluded, but any sane person would not have done the crime and confessed at the end. On the other hand, a crazy person would not have either.
The culture of the time was truly weird. Thank goodness I didn't live in that hellish time.
The acting is fine. The jokes are dull. The only interesting character is the dog. I will probably go through the whole series if I can. I do hope it isn't as disappointing as this one.
