Love & Distrust (2010 Video)

A Mostly Fascinating Look At Love
16 January 2019
10 October 2014. This movie is really five separate movie shorts directed by different directors and shot by different movie crews and the last movie short actually is a series of individual mini-shorts which is the least comprehensible of all. Except for the last short, the four short movies all have a love angle that echoes some of the more serious attempts at storytelling and emotive expression, including Shirley MacLaine's and Golden Globe nominee, Women Times Seven (1967), Nicole Kidman's Margot at the Wedding (2007), The Tree of Life (2011), Bill Murray's Lost in Translation (2003).

The movies isn't for mainstream audiences and offer slices of life events that don't always have pat conclusions, but reflect more of the episodic nature of love, moments of compassion and betrayal, urgency and doubt, and happiness. A worthwhile experiential film if one can mostly ignore the last short (which isn't consistent with rest of its companions, better scene separately as a series of short, shorts).
