Sarkar (2018)

If you want to waste 3 hours of your time, then watch this movie

The film opens well, shows how every single vote in a democracy is important. Explains a law under section 49p, which is good. But the problem is when Vijay comes in. After that point, you may have to put your brain in standby mode and forget logic and common sense.

1. He teaches laws to judges and top-notch lawyers in the country. 2. He calls himself a businessman but behaves like a 3rd grade cheap rowdy 3. He challenges politicians (which is good), but behaves worse than the politicians and only gives trash talk 4. The actual time of each fight sequence in the movie is under 2 minutes but since everything is shown in slow motion each scene is like 15 minutes of utter nonsense. 5. He is an average actor, but he tries too hard to act better which ends up being extremely hilarious. 6. The top politician of the state with over 3 decades of experience behaves like an amateur. He consults his daughter from Canada for every political move (remember, don't expect any common sense or logic). 7. The climax of the movie is the icing on the cake. When you finish the movie, you may have to down a few shots of vodka to make yourself feel better.

Vijay has acted in some superb movies, but this movie proves that his political ambitions have gotten to his head, and he is just using movies to gain popularity before contesting in elections (probably 5-10 years from now).

The people of Tamil Nadu have become mature. They no longer consider cinema stars as future administrators. It's better if he focuses more on his career and stop thinking about politics. Also, Vijay needs to take some good acting classes.
