Review of The Stew

The Stew (2019)
2/10
Highly anticipated, Yet entirely disappointing.

Virtually everything in this film is wrong, and most of that irresponsibility boils down to the fact that Wood has no idea what he is doing. Which was glaringly obvious as he directed, wrote, and produced, this catastrophic project.

As a result of his "control" over the film, everything felt like a first draft. Every take seems like the worst take that was shot, and yet they are all used. The line delivery from everyone lacked authenticity due to the directors failure to pull a convincing performance from the Critically Acclaimed actors. It was clear that Chris struggled with this project.

The writing was lackluster, using 70's lingo and costume design to make up for the misstep. The plot, predictable and underwhelming. The most redeeming quality this film has is the small cameo Wood's dog made, and that didn't last. If it weren't rude to walk out of a 9 minute film I would've been long gone.

2/10 for you Mr Wood. Good luck on your next project. I wish you all the best.
