"Annie, I'm here babe, I still exist."

Warning: Spoilers
Not long after Robin Williams' death my better half and I were talking about his life and his films. My favourite one of his was DEAD POETS SOCIETY. This one was in her top 3. I am not sure where I was when this film came out, but oddly I had never heard of it, but boy did it ever sound interesting.

In this film we meet Robin Williams who plays Chris Nielsen and Annabella Sciorra who plays Annie Collins. Quite soon we know they are meant for each other. But, ultimately true sadness seems to follow them. Years later their two children die in a car crash and in another situation Williams dies leaving Sciorra all alone. Williams is then sent to Heaven and Cuba Gooding Jr. Plays Albert Lewis who acts as Chris' as well as the audience's guide to Heaven and how it works. Sadly, Annie can no longer handle life and commits suicide. She though is sent to Hell due to her killing herself. Chris then goes on a quest to find his true love.

I did think the film had a very interesting thought of the afterlife. I have only seen this film one time, but I know I will go back and watch it again. It did seem to have a lot of visuals going on. In fact it won an Oscar for Visual Effects. Next time I watch I will try and catch some of the visuals going on. Personally, I had my attention on both Williams and Sciorra as I thought they both put in some great and powerful performances. Based on a book by Richard Matheson, which I intend to read before I watch this film again. Perhaps after doing so I may change my vote from a 6. While, I have placed my vote I note that it may be changed along with this review if I begin to enjoy it more. It really isn't a film with a lot of laughs or wonderful feelings. It is more a film about two people and their undying love for each other. It is intense and may bring tears and sadness to some viewers.
