Billy Eliot is a beautifully told story, set in Northeastern England during a very difficult time. During the dark years of Thatcherism and miners strike, we can watch a story about a boy that initially defies the expectations of his father and brother and the classical concept of masculinity of the region. We get to watch him rebel and pave his own way.
With great performances from all the actors, this movie is a must watch coming of age movie, with a very strong background story.
