Bulletstorm: Solid FPS
1 April 2019
I heard a lot of negativity about Bulletstorm when it first appeared, primarily the criticism was about it's humor. Namely that it was outdated and needlessly crass, essentially it was Duke Nukem. Personally I don't think it's an issue, in fact I found a fair bit funny.

Though multiplayer exists Bulletstorm focuses on it's really quite impressive single player campaign and personally I prefer that considerably in general. I won't try and describe the plot because it would be rather hard to do so, it's rather all over the place.

With your usual array of weapons, secondary fires for most and the addition of a brilliant "Leash" weapon that really makes things interesting the gunplay is excellent. The locations and enemies though not as varied as I'd have liked are still above par. It has some very memorable sequences and the trick shot catalogue brings yet another unique never before seen twist to a tried and tested formula.

With lots of comedy, hyper violence and a fair challenge at higher difficulty levels I have to say its a damn shame Bulletstorm never became a franchise because it deserved to be.

The Good:

Looks the part

Solid shooter

Some great dialogue

Plenty of side content

The Bad:

Duke Nukem side content is annoyingly bad

Coop campaign would have been nice
