Couldn't be considered realistic but enjoyable

Warning: Spoilers
There are a lot of things that don't add up, things that could only happen in a series or a movie.(I know it is a series but some things were just really unrealistic and illogical.)

Spoilers

For starters why is Marcus allowed to live in the house? I mean I'm pretty sure they didn't show the police sweeping the house for evidence, and even if they did wouldn't Marcus be allowed to live there at least a few days after? And not the very moment after they found a body next to the house? Also how come Marcus was the only one questioning people?(except for that other cop, can't remember his name) I mean i know it is a town and all so I wasn't expecting FBI headquarters but if a writer was the only one who could solve the case then I'm sorry they need new employees (they didn't even do a proper job at sweeping the house) Another thing I found strange and that is just my opinion is that how willingly they people talked to the writer I mean some of the things was really private and they just told him everything?

Some of the plot twists was alright, some made sense, some didn't make any sense. I don't know how to critique the cinematography or the directing I mean I guess if they put a little more effort into that it could've been already a little bit better, but there were more important things so I guess that wasn't too important.

I guess one thing that made this series a little disappointing was that the build up was too much and they couldn't deliver, everything was stretched out and only revealed the last episode. I mean I enjoyed it, despite some of its flaws the story line was good I stand by it, could've been better executed though, but it's decent. I felt that the plot twist about Luther Caleb was good, but I felt that they could've gone more in depth with his character, along with EVERY other character.

I mean I haven't read the Harry quebert affair book but the series for what it's worth isn't that bad.
