I had previously watched Ford Fairlane also starring Dice Clay so thought this would be worth a shot.
Unfortunately its nowhere near as good.
This is not even an average movie even by B movie standards despite there being quite a few recognisable faces.
The story itself is kinda weird, its an odd mix of Big Trouble In Little China mixed with The Golden Child, its all about some magical flower which Chinese monks want for immortality. Just an odd premise.
This is billed as an action comedy, its not funny enough to make you laugh once and the action in particular the fight scenes are terrible.
Its almost as if this is a kids level movie but for adults? Maybe adults with a kids IQ? Its possibly too crude for kids but too silly for adults.
There is supposedly a love story at the heart of this but Dice doesn't convince, the playing it cool on stage comedy personae may have been big at the time but now it just looks stilted.
To top it all off theres a really bad song which I think is being sang by a woman but its very hard to tell her voice sounds odd and its hard to make out any lyrics.
But hey with a movie named Brain Smasher which has to be one of the worst titles ever, followed by a Love Story pretty much tells you all you need to know about how tone deaf this production is.
Maybe worth watching as an example of a bad movie but even Dice fans may be disappointed.
