Manhunt (2019–2021)
5/10
Fair police drama with obligatory family cliches and unnecessary profanity
19 August 2019
Frankly, I am tired of the old cliche that must appear in every crime/police story where dedicated investigator have to suffer the wife/family/girl friend's resentment of his dedication/ obsession of finding the killer. this show is no exception - while the hero is doing his job trying to catch the killer the wife is trying to tear their family life apart, daughter is upset because he didn't turn up for the birthday celebration and so forth. This boring scenes could have been cut off and two parts would be enough for this mini series. Another unfortunate point is use gratuitous use of profanity that begins as a side comment of one of the detectives in part two and becomes more and more prominent in part three used by main characters. It's really strange coming out of mouths of these detectives hitherto speaking in perfectly civilised language. it's not like some American crime stories where they let you know from the start that this is how the cops speak and you accept it or not. Other than that is a fairly interesting drama based on real case.
