It's been a while since I've last dared watch this kind of coming of age film. Usually I know what I'm in for, and I avoid the heart strings being tugged too harshly. I took a chance on this one - my, it was a struggle getting hold of the correct subtitles by the way :)
The gamble paid off in ways I didn't expect. It didn't only tug at my heart strings... it yanked and almost tore them. It perfectly portrayed my struggles as a confused kid in a culture and time when being gay was nothing less and an affront to god.
I haven't had a good cry like this in ages. Thank you.
