Killing Kennedy (2013 TV Movie)
7/10
"The President has been shot."

Warning: Spoilers
If you were around when John F. Kennedy was assassinated, you know the history and have developed your own ideas about what happened as regards the numerous conspiracies concerning his death. This picture doesn't address any of the controversy, and is pretty much a straightforward reenactment of a short time span prior to the event. A bit more detail is fleshed out concerning Lee Harvey Oswald; Will Rothhaar portrays him as a paranoid individual with a persecution complex, which isn't surprising considering his mental state as an anti-capitalist and Communist by his own admission. The film takes a few shots at the Kennedy marriage with Jack's philandering, demonstrating Jackie's (Ginnifer Goodwin) resolve to be a faithful wife but pained by the cheating of her husband. That, and the mention of Sam Giancana and the mob were only whispers during Kennedy's tenure in office, and were generally disregarded as rumor. One notes the many derisive reviews of this film here on IMDb, so if one is interested in the various conspiracy angles and theories, best to look elsewhere. This simply puts the event in historical context and is fairly straightforward about the events before, during, and after the assassination.
